SIMAP - Similarity Matrix of Proteins
Today, protein sequence comparison is the most powerful tool in computational biology for characterizing protein sequences because of the enormous amount of information that is preserved throughout the evolutionary process. SIMAP is a public database of pre-calculated protein similarities that plays a key role in many bioinformatics methods. It contains about all currently published protein sequences and is continuously updated. http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/ - Detail Google PR
Neuron
This project aims to provide a trial BOINC environment in which a set of dummy applications will run. The purpose of this being to record, observe and understand BOINC activity and data with a view to developing metrics that will establish or otherwise the quality/reliability/dependability of particular BOINC projects. http://neuron.mine.nu/neuron/ - Detail Google PR
DepSpid - the dependency spider
DepSpid is a distributed type of a web crawler (like the ones used by search engines) and has two major goals: 1st: Build up a database containing the dependencies between individual web sites and groups of web sites. 2nd: Collect statistical data about the structure of the web. http://www.depspid.net/ - Detail Google PR |
